The trajectory of the sign of Taurus is characterized by the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur.
Minos, king of Crete, had a beautiful herd of bulls that were dedicated to King Poseidon, god of the seas. A pact was made: Minos promised the best of his white bulls on the condition that Poseidon would give him the wisdom of the seas in return. Thus, Crete prospered.
The king, dominated by his avarice, never satisfied his desires and when it came time to fulfill his end of the bargain, he tricked Poseidon and offered him a bull like any other, common.
Teaming up with Aphrodite, Poseidon devised a vengeful plan. Bewitched, Pasiphae, wife of Minos, fell in love with her husband's white bull. Unable to contain her desires, he asked the kingdom's architect to build a wooden bull, in order to hide his new lover.
Fruit of this union is born Minotaur, a terrible being, half human and half bull, who fed on human flesh. Symbol of Pasiphae's betrayal, Minotaur was trapped in a labyrinth impossible to get out of. People were left there to serve as food.
There was a group with the purpose of exterminating the beast, among them was Theseus, son of Aegeus, the king of Athens. Ariadne, daughter of Minos, helped him get to the labyrinth with her ball of thread. She held the ball in her hands as she watched Theseus walk away towards the labyrinth, lest he lose his way back. He killed the Minotaur, became King of Crete, and married Ariadne, which made him heir to Minos.
This myth brings the Taurus native to a taste for adventure and not being controlled by his desires. Taureans bring within them the bestial side and, at the same time, human and heroic. It is sensual and materialistic, needs emotional and financial security. When stable, he is usually faithful and patient. But when he loses control, he becomes violent.
Women born under this sign are generally fertile. Whether in the reproductive or creative sense. They represent the dream of most men for having their docile, devoted and passionate side well touched upon. They appreciate mutual care and pampering. They have a great connection with nature and do not tolerate any last minute changes or compromises.
Sensual and worshipers of beauty, Taurus men are very masculinized. They are usually very vain and also faithful to what they believe in and love. Linked to material and elegance, they have their ambition worshiped and valued for themselves. They work tirelessly towards their goals. Naive but strong, tends to get fat for being lazy.
